At the international workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security IH&MMSec 2024, Lea Uhlenbrock, Davide Cozzolino, Denise Moussa, Luisa Verdoliva, and Christian Riess received the Best Paper Award for their paper “Did You Note My Palette? Unveiling Synthetic Images Through Color Statistics”. They examined the characteristics of the image generator Stable Diffusion and discovered that due to the insufficient penalization of chrominance deviations during the optimization of image generators, synthetic images exhibit color anomalies that can be utilized as forensic traces for detection.
