The start-up team “inveneer” at LHFT was chosen as one of the winning teams in phase 1 of this year’s BayStartUp business plan competition in northern Bavaria. In two rounds, inveneer was first able to impress with its business plan and then with its pitch in front of a twenty-member jury!

The founding team consisting of Dr.-Ing. Johanna Geiß, Dr.-Ing. Erik Sippel, Patrick Gröschel and Dr.-Ing. Markus Hehn is working on an indoor positioning system for the precise localization of smartphones and other Bluetooth-enabled devices inside buildings. The concept is based on a new positioning algorithm for the precise evaluation of directional information, which was developed at the LHFT. Navigation in the supermarket to the product you are looking for or to a point of interest at a trade fair should soon be as natural as out on the street. Since November, inveneer has been funded by an EXIST research transfer program. With this program, the German government supports teams in founding particularly innovative and technological start-ups based on their research results.
